What a pleasure it is to stroll through the eclectic collections of the Musée des Jacobins once again! This collection faithfully reflects the history of the museum since it opened in 1887.
In six chapters, this exhibition invites you to rediscover the major works, archaeological objects, popular arts and traditions, which can be viewed, assembled and admired together.
and popular traditions, which look at each other, come together and interact to better reveal themselves.
As a museum of art and history, its collections bear witness to a sometimes unusual mix, where folk sculpture
with a portrait of a woman by Gustave Courbet, an Egyptian sarcophagus, works by Australian Impressionist
John Peter Russell and the collection of wedding spoons, a nude by Pierre Bonnard.
