Exhibition by Yvon Le Bras: "De Pierres et d'Écorces" (Of Stones and Bark)

An inveterate hiker, criss-crossing the coasts and forests of Brittany, armed with sketchbooks and a camera, Yvon Le Bras invites us to enter with him into the heart of the undergrowth, to peer into the interstices of the rocks in search of the invisible and the impenetrable. His Indian ink drawings, the fruit of his wanderings, leave room for the imagination and interpretations of the spectator, offering a transfigured nature.

The deeper the black becomes on the paper, the more hidden secrets are revealed, treasures buried in the heart of foliage, bark or a crack in a rock. This quest is never finished, and attempts to build an aesthetic of the unfinished.
