Welcome to Chancé where you can walk in a quite town who has a nice local heritage with its church and Saint Marc chapel. Pass by Domagné and, next, get the direction of Chancé, in the countryside.

On arriving, you observe the Saint Pierre church (1136), period where she depended of La Roë abbey (Mayenne), in a parish. The actual church suffered of many changments during centuries : the apse and the south portal date from the beginning of the 16th century, the west gable was rebuilt following the storm of 1848, while its restoration continued in the 19th century. Auguste Marchand, architect, leads the construction of the chapel and the extension of the chapel, in 1884, while the steeple has been restored in 1903 by Jean-Marie Huchet.

Built at the north west of the church, the presbytery is located at the place of the former presbytery. Some remains (11th-12th centuries) are still visibles in the south wall. The Saint Marc altarpiece, realized in 1774, is the piece of art of the carpenter Gandon. The chapel has been totally restored in the 1880's, then, at the end of the 20th century.

Integrated into the township of Pire-sur-Seiche, at the Revolution, in 1790, the little rural town is attached to Châteaugiron's township in 1801, even if the two localities are geographically separated. Chancé, today, belons to Communauté de Communes du Pays de Châteaugiron.
